healthier air

Hi. I am moving into a new place and I was wondering if having living plants in my house will help clean the air?

Thanks,

Linette

Re: healthier air

Absolutely - plants clean the air with thier natural ability to process toxins and carbon emissions. Remember, the basic process of photosynthesis is that plants take in carbon dioxide and put out oxygen.

The rhizomes in the roots break down VOCs (volotile organic compounds) that exist in the air and would most likely be present in a newly renovated or completed construction projects. VOCs are toxic compounds that come from a variety of sources but are prevelant in carpet fibers, ceiling tiles, cleaining products, paints, drywall panels, etc.

Indoor plants can act as a naturally beautiful way of cleaning the air and providing fresh clean oxygen for your space.

Really the more plants the better for cleaning the air, and if you place tyour indoor plants on pebble trays full of water you'll increase the humidity of your indoor air as well.
