Crotons aren't that hard really, and they're sooooo worth it. They give a spectacular array of foliage interest, and there isn't another indoor plant with the red, orange, yellow, green combos and cool choices of spots, stripes, splotches etc.
The deal with crotons is that they really like a lot of sun and don't like to dry out - they'll wilt pretty quickly if they do. So keep crotons in a sunny window with fairly moist conditions (on a pebble tray with water if you can) and they will develop into large colorful houseplants that will add to any space.

Is it true that they will grow better if you plant them in with other plants? Someone told me that if you plant them in with a larger plant that they like to get the moisture from the other plants foliage. I haven't tried it because I have had such ad luck growing them.
